Terms:
This Glossary will help you as you begin building your MZ-Smart Station classes:
Exercise | The single type of movement or activity (such as a kettlebell swing, a treadmill speed, or a boxing combo). |
Group | A subset of class participants, defined by the class instructor. Each group will move from station to station, with their heart rate tiles moving from Station to Station. |
Station | The physical area where one group of participants perform one exercise at a time, as displayed on the screen. |
Screen |
The TV or monitor that displays both the class participants’ heart rate tiles, and instructional content associated with up to six Stations. |
Console (Primary) | The Myzone touchscreen console that controls the class. The Primary Myzone PC may also have one or more screens. One Primary Myzone PC is required. |
Console (Secondary) | Myzone Hardware which may have one or more physical screens attached. Up to 11 Myzone PCs can be supported. |
To create a class:
1. Go to the class creator and start creating a new class.
2. Name the class, click on MZ-Instruct, set the number of exercises for your class, then check the box for MZ-Smart Station.
3. Once you have set your exercises, click the green plus sign to start building your first class element.
4. Add your exercises and assign the corresponding stations.
To create your first station, click the drop-down and begin typing in the box. Click the green plus sign to create the new station. Complete this step to add as many stations as you need.
Remember... stations are the TVs or areas where groups perform the exercises.
5. Next, assign the groups who will be performing the exercise at that station using the drop-down arrow under 'group.'
Remember... groups are the tiles of members that will be rotating together through stations.
6. For this example, each exercise station has been named with a number that corresponds to a screen with the same number
Each station has its own group of members, so as the class plays, six separate sets of tiles will move between the screens to each smart station.
As you continue building your class, the exercises and stations will remain the same, however, the GROUPS will rotate and change stations.
To rotate the groups, click the group rotate button. Keep clicking until you have the desired order.
If you wish to show the same tiles on all screens, do not assign a group for Smart Station.
Example of an MZ-Smart Station Class:
It is important to note that when you build a class, the order of the exercises at those stations remains the same. Only the groups rotate.
Let's take a look at 1 example of how to build out a class properly below:
- You will notice there are 3 stations with 1 exercise at each.
- Each class line is repeated 3 times so that each group can rotate through the stations once. This is represented by the blue, green, and orange boxes.
- Notice how the exercises stay the same at the stations, however, the only change is the groups. This is represented by the red boxes.
- Add in rest and transition periods as necessary which occur after each class line.
Club staff should keep this in mind when they are building their classes.
When you have finished creating your class, be sure to click the green save button at the bottom of the class.
